Eight-Game Homestand Packed With Pixar, Fireworks
For the final time in 2017, a pair of teams from the PCL Pacific Conference comes to Security Service Field for an eight-game homestand beginning Friday, July 21. The Reno Aces and the Tacoma Rainiers come to Colorado for the first time since 2015 as the Sox look to continue their late-season push for the postseason.
The week-long homestand begins Friday night at 7 p.m. with a Friday Night Fireworks show, presented by Small Town Brewery. The Sox will be celebrating Christmas in July throughout the night, with the post-game fireworks having a festive theme to get everyone in the mood for December 25.
The Sox take on the top affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks for the second game of their four-game series Saturday night at 6 p.m. All fans are welcome to head to the ballpark at 9 a.m. for some yoga, presented by Cambio Yoga (check the Facebook event for more details). Your favorite characters from Toy Story, The Incredibles and Monsters, Inc., will be in attendance for the season’s third theme night as Pixar takes over Security Service Field, courtesy of UC Health. The soundtracks of some Pixar classics will highlight a post-game fireworks show-the second in as many nights.
The Aces and Sky Sox play a Sunday matinee at 1:30 p.m. The team will be in their Charlie Brown uniforms and fans have the opportunity to bid on these jerseys during an in-game silent auction, presented by RMLEB. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive the 2017 Micro-Brewers t-shirt and fans can enjoy 50-cent hot dogs every Sunday, both courtesy of Safeway. Security Service Federal Credit Union members can gain free admission to the game by showing their card, thanks to SSFCU.
Reno and Colorado Springs meet for the final time in 2017 Monday night at 6:40 p.m. It’s another ARC Community Ticket Night, presented by ARC Thrift Stores. As always, fans are encouraged to head to any of the four Colorado Springs ARC Thrift Store locations to pick up complimentary ticket vouchers for the night’s action.
The Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners come to town beginning Tuesday, July 25, as the Tacoma Rainiers meet the Sky Sox for the first time of the season on a $2 Tuesday. Parking, tickets and Coors products are all $2, with alcohol on sale through the seventh inning.
Wednesday is for the kids, as the Sky Sox take on the Rainiers at 12:30 p.m. for an afternoon matinee. Be sure to bring out your little ones for a mid-week day game as we entertain the kids with sing-alongs and some minor league baseball.
The Sox and Rainiers continue their series at 6:40 p.m. Thursday night with another $3 Thirsty Thursday, featuring Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, sponsored by RMC Coors. Thursday is also another Military Appreciation Night, presented by the Phil Long Dealerships.
The homestand concludes at 7 p.m. against Tacoma with the third fireworks show of the homestand at the game’s conclusion, presented by Honest Accurate. After a fan vote, the theme for the night’s performance will be the music of award-winning artist Bruno Mars.
